Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Subbio ("the App", "we", "us") helps you track your subscriptions, get reminders before charges, and use AI assistance to cancel services, request discounts, and find alternatives. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how. We built Subbio to be privacy-first: most of your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account, and we never sell your data.
2. What information we collect
Information you provide
- Subscription details you add or confirm — service name, price, currency, billing cycle, category, and renewal dates.
- Inputs to AI features — the choices and any free text you enter in the Help flows (e.g. a cancellation reason or a discount type).
Information processed on your device
- Notification content — if you enable it, Subbio can read incoming bank/payment notifications to suggest subscriptions it detects. This parsing happens on your device; the raw notification text is not sent to our servers. You confirm or dismiss every suggestion.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous install identifier — a random ID stored in your iCloud Keychain, used to associate your AI usage allowance with your install. It is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
- Purchase status — whether you have an active subscription or token balance, processed through Apple and our subscription provider (Adapty) to unlock features. We do not receive your card number or full payment details — Apple handles payment.
3. How we use your information
- To display your subscriptions, totals, and renewal reminders.
- To send local notifications you have opted into (upcoming charges).
- To generate AI results you request (discount messages, cancellation guides, alternatives, cost-cutting plans).
- To manage your subscription entitlement and AI usage allowance.
- To maintain and improve the App's reliability and performance.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. When we share information
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the App:
- Apple — for iCloud sync, push notifications, and App Store purchases, under Apple's privacy terms.
- Adapty — our subscription management provider, to process and validate in-app purchases and your subscription status. See Adapty's privacy policy at adapty.io/privacy.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the App.
5. AI features & data minimization
When you use a Help feature (Get discount, Cancel sub, Find alternative, Cut costs), Subbio sends only the subscription details relevant to that request to our processing backend to generate a result. Before sending, the App runs the data through a sanitization step to strip information that isn't needed for the request. The generated result is returned to your device. We do not use your inputs to train models.
6. Storage & retention
- Your subscription data is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, synced through your own iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). You control it through your Apple ID.
- AI requests are processed transiently to produce a result and are not retained as a personal profile by us.
- You can delete any subscription in the App at any time. Deleting the App and signing out of iCloud removes the local and synced data associated with it.
7. Children
Subbio is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because most data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you can exercise much of this directly in the App and in your Apple settings. For anything else, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, with an in-app notice.
